PATHWAYS

The idea for this project came from noticing people outside the gallery window where we were in residence developing the theme of Beck. The flow of pedestrians mirrored the passage of water,  we started filming and sketching and making field recordings. This new work looks at the  differentIt forms and functions of pathways. People move along them for exercise, to get to work, to experience nature. Some are built to facilitate travel, others are carved by our repeated journeys over years. This is the first time that people have featured in our films, in previous work human agency has been revealed through signs of historical activity .
